Psalm 78 is antiphonal psalmody that was written for the Anglican liturgy of Maundy Thursday. The piece is in Mode VII and is for the most part neumatic chant, with a couple of glorious melismas for the countertenors, and a rousing moment befitting the text, written in parallel fifths.
